People and awareness

Clear responsibilities for people with access to customer and operational information.

Updated

Security awareness and confidential work

People with access to customer or operational information need clear guidance on credential handling, phishing, safe support workflows, and reporting concerns. Confidentiality obligations and access responsibilities should be established for the engagement and reflected in onboarding and offboarding.

Personnel screening, including any background checks, must be lawful, proportionate, and appropriate to the role. Request the current personnel-control scope for a vendor review; this page does not assert that every collaborator has undergone an identical check or training certification.

Access follows the role

People working on the service need only the information and privileges relevant to their responsibilities. Customer support, software development, and administration involve different access needs.

Care with sensitive information

Customer messages, private uploads, credentials, and operational records require confidential handling. A public source result does not make the surrounding customer account or search history public.

Raise issues early

Security concerns should be escalated with enough context to reproduce and assess them. Clear ownership and written operational context help the team act on a report without spreading sensitive material unnecessarily.
